Annie and I drove to Johnson City, the birthplace of former president Lyndon B. Johnson, (about an hour away) on Saturday evening for their annual Christmas lights. It was such fun---and mostly FREE~~

The courthouse is beautiful.

There are carriage rides ($6) with horses that have REAL sleigh bells...as we walked all over town the sound of those bells was so exciting to hear.

My favorite was the live nativity at the 1st Methodist, with free hot chocolate and cookies after.

Be sure and walk a couple of blocks across main street to the light company where there is a FOREST of lights that was amazing.

And of course there was Santa ("not the real one-he had on BLUE eyeshadow!"). His helper was so pretty--not the real "Mrs Claus".

The people are so friendly and welcoming.....definitely a recommended Christmasy thing to do and worth the drive.
