Something the WW leader told us on Saturday has haunted me ever since, and thought I should share it with you.
She said,
"What legacy are we leaving our children??
Because of OUR generations' unhealthy lifestyle,
we are now leaving the next generation
a LOWER life expectancy,
for the first time in many many years."

That is NOT something to be proud of, is it? I want to teach my child healthy lifestyle habits, so that when she grows up, it is truly a lifestyle, not a "diet".
Keep on keepin on friends......think of the future, not the moment.
Now I'm off to walk with my friend the 3 mile loop around the zoo/park. Have a great Labor Day! I sure miss you all and pray for your strength.

I think the worst legacy that we are leaving the children is couch potato status. Although I was a competitive swimmer in High School and worked toward a college scholarship, it was not cool for a girl to be athletic. Even my father admitted later thinking that something just wasn't quite right with me. Let's not do that to our girls ..... get them interested in LOTS of sports and outdoor adventure!
Good word,Lisa.

Ouch! That one gets me right where it hurts. Thanks for the reminder...it's about more than just myself. Lisa~
